Galileo Record is a Progressive Rock Label/publishing company based in Grenchen, Switzerland.

The activities began in 1998. Konny Eisenring from Black Rills Records and myself saw an astonishing new french band at a festival in France. As we both were captured by the sound we heard there, we decided to contact the band. We wanted to know if they found a label after their performance at the festival and the answer was "no, we haven't, nobody is interested in an all instrumental band". So Konny and I agreed to found a label to release XANG's debut. We had to choose a name. After a few brainstorming sessions we decided to call our label Galileo Records. This because Galileo Galilei was an astonishing man, which as you know, affirmed that our earth is a globe. As his ideas were to much 'progressive' for that time, he had to abjure to his affirmations. He did but he was right...

Just after we signed our second band METAPHOR, Konny quitted Galileo Records. Since then the company is lead by only one person and Galileo Records is now well established in the prog rock scene.

Since august 2005 Galileo Records is a registered company (PLC).

The goal of the company is not to make super stars (even if we do our best), but to give prog bands a faire chance to release their music and to be heard all over the world.
